After a disappointing return of one point from two games against teams in the bottom four in the last week, Southport now face two games against teams in the top seven as the road trips continue.
First up we are at Darlington on Tuesday night when a win for the home side could see them back on top of the table.
Southport have already beaten Darlington at Haig Avenue this season and were very unfortunate to go out of the FA Cup at Blackwell Meadows when reduced to 10 men very early when Michael Carberry saw red after the home player tripped over his own feet. Darlington beat local rivals Spennymoor 3-2 on Saturday in front of a bumper gate of 1903. With Newcastle at home aiming to get to Wembley it’s unlikely to be a gate that high on Tuesday but the home side are still expecting a good turnout.
