Southport FC is always happy to accommodate media organisations and journalists wherever possible. Haig Avenue contains a fully fitted press area, with wi-fi and electricity available to all visiting media. We also have a small media room for interviews.
(The following conditions do not apply to the BBC , who have separate permissions laid out in their agreement with the National League)
To request press tickets for a match, interview requests, match photography and commentary email:
Match photography access requests must include your license and insurance details and be sent in seven days prior to the match you wish to attend.
Commentary requests:
All commentary requests, including from visiting clubs, their partners, commercial stations and community stations, MUST be received no less than 48 hours before a fixture. Commentary permissions will NOT be granted on the day of a match under any circumstances. The club reserves the right to charge for commentary provision. Southport FC is under no obligation to honour agreements between opposition clubs and their media partners.
Southport FC Media will be providing commentary from as many matches as possible in the 2024-25 season.
Match filming requests:
Visiting clubs are permitted access to film matches, and publish highlights, on condition that Southport FC is afforded the same rights in any return fixture.
We film our matches from the gantry behind the Press Box in the Main Stand . Visiting clubs can use the gantry facing the Main Stand or from a position in the Main Stand when space allows but be aware no power is available on the gantry so make sure the batteries are charged.
We like to make all visiting media feel welcome at Haig Avenue and we allocate space for three visitors in our Press Box. Any club bringing in excess of three will be located nearby but without power so bring a long extension lead to hook up into the Press Box. We will welcome you and allocate a seat in the Press Box which is labelled Visiting Media, we don’t have any refreshment facilities but there are plenty of food and drink outlets in the ground.
When travelling away we will usually have one photographer and 2/3 from our volunteer media team, more often than not two.
Please contact our Head Of Media Rob Urwin, rob@southportfc.net 077900-41514 to make arrangements ahead of the game if you intend filming. VEO cameras must be placed opposite the Main Stand.
