The 31-year-old arrives with a CV stretching considerably higher up the pyramid and including spells in the Premier League, Championship, League One and French football.
Manchester-born Healey began his senior career with Connah’s Quay Nomads before being signed by Cardiff City in 2013.
During six years with Cardiff he gained experience through loan spells at Colchester United, Dundee, Newport County, Torquay United and MK Dons before eventually joining the latter permanently.
It was in France, however, that Healey enjoyed the most prolific period of his career.
He joined Toulouse in 2020 and became one of the leading forwards in Ligue 2, finishing as the division’s leading scorer as Toulouse won the title and promotion to Ligue 1 in 2021/22.
Across his league career with Toulouse he scored 35 goals in 68 appearances, having previously scored 19 in 37 league appearances across his two spells with MK Dons.
Healey returned to England with Watford in 2023 before moving to Huddersfield Town in January 2024 for a fee of over £2m.
He scored five times in 22 appearances in all competitions for Huddersfield, although the latter part of his time there was disrupted by injury.
A loan move to Barrow at the beginning of last season produced only one substitute appearance and Healey did not feature competitively for Huddersfield during 2025/26. His contract was terminated by mutual consent in June, leaving him free to find another club.
