Southport 2 Radcliffe 0

Southport made it seven games unbeaten with a good 2-0 win against Radcliffe, the second time we have beaten them this season following an FA Cup triumph earlier in the season.

It was a very good win for The Sandgrounders against a side who sat in fourth place in the table before the game.

Goals from Jordan Slew in the 47th minute and Adrien Thibaut who settled the game in the 83rd minute gave Southport the points and a move up to 18th in the table.

Southport are making a habit of scoring second half goals at home and in the first ten minutes of the half. Of the 15 home goals scored 13 have come in the second half and 7 in the opening 10 minutes of the half.

With Chris Renshaw at his best making five excellent saves it was a great team performance and a well deserved win.

Jordan Slew is on form and took his goal well after great work by Malakai McKenzie, making his first start, set him up for a lovely finish.

If the first goal was good the second, albeit a close range finish, was better, with great build up from Luke Griffiths who fed Slew who beat his man and Adrie Thibaut was on the end of a delightful cross to finish.

Dylan Dwyer also made his first start in the game
