Max joins Southport on a season long loan from Blackburn Rovers after committing his long-term future to the Championship club earlier this year. The 19-year-old centre-back signed a new contract until the summer of 2029, with Blackburn retaining the option of a further year, reflecting the club’s belief in his potential after progressing through their academy since Under-13 level.
Max signed his first professional contract in 2024 and has since become a regular for Blackburn’s Under-21 side. He also gained his first taste of senior football during a loan spell with Warrington Rylands before continuing his development with the Championship club.
The move to Haig Avenue allows Max to gain regular National League North experience as he continues his development in senior football.
