Southport fall to a third consecutive defeat after a below par performance at Spalding today.

Goals in each half were enough to seal the victory for the home side in a game that saw Southport rarely offer a threat and nobody could argue with the outcome.

It took a sloppy goal in the 26th minute of the first half by the very impressive Bart Cybulski to open the scoring.

We did have a short spell of pressure in the second half but never had a shot on target and it was no surprise when Spalding added a second goal in the 75th minute.

We move on to a home game against Morecambe on Tuesday.
