Southport did the double over Bedford last season, winning 3-1 here at Haig Avenue and 3-2 at Bedford with a late Jordan Slew, slightly controversial, goal sealing the win.

Bedford started the season with two defeats losing 1-0 at Oxford City on the opening day and 3-2 at home to Darlington last Saturday but on Tuesday evening they entertained Buxton and had a fine 2-1 win.
