Walking Football National Cup Adventure Ends

Our over 70’s, 65’s and 60’s Walking Football teams interest in this season’s National Cup ended today with the Over 65’s going down 3-0 away to a very good, strong Garstang side.

The over 70’s lost narrowly away at Preston, 1-0 to a very cruel deflected goal.

The Over 60’s went down 2-1 at home (JMO) to Liscard Brazil, the winning goal coming less than two minutes from the end just as it looked like the game was heading towards penalties.

All the squads have been very active over the last few weeks, playing in a five team charity competition on Morecambe’s pitch, friendlies with Morecambe and friendlies at Salford.

All the squads are improving with each game but do lack the experience a lot of the other sides have of having regular sessions on proper sized pitches with competition sized goals.

The photo is of the over 65’s taken at Garstang today.

The popularity of Walking Football, aimed at the over 50’s is increasing all the time and we now operate two strictly walking sessions on a Monday and Wednesday between 10 and 11 at Dunes Leisure.
