An afternoon to forget for The Sandgrounders as we slip to a very disappointing defeat at home to a Radcliffe side who had lost all their previous games on the road.

It started brightly with Teddy Lavelle firing just wide after 55 secaonds but as Radcliffe grew into the game it was them who looked the most likely to score.

The opening goal came after 37 minutes when a corner was swung in and Finley McAllister was left unmarked to head home from close range.

Daniel Ogwuru should have levelled the scores in the 62nd minute when he was clean through but fired over the bar.

Our visitors increased their lead in the 72nd minute with a well worked goal finished off by Tyler James.

Whilst Southport did create a few chances in the game Radcliffe ran out worthy winners and Southport slipped down into 22nd place in the table.
