Southport looked to be cruising to a comfortable 2-0 win but ended with a share of the points after Spennymoor pulled it back to 2-2 with a stoppage time penalty.

Goals from Malakai McKenzie who raced clear from his own half to round the Moors ‘keeper and slot home and a first half added time second from Adam Moseley gave Southport a 2-0 half time lead.

The Sandgrounders started the second half brightly and could have put the game to bed but a combination of poor finishing and great goalkeeping kept it at 2-0.

From looking down and out Spennymoor suddenly came alive and Glen Taylor pulled a goal back in the 74th minute.

Just when it looked like Southport were going to hold on our visitors were awarded a penalty in the 93rd minute which Taylor slotted home and the game ended in a disappointing 2-2 draw.
