Festus Arthur Joins Southport

We’re delighted to welcome Festus Arthur back to Southport Football Club.

The central defender arrives at Haig Avenue having spent the first few weeks of the season at Northern Premier League – Premier Division side Hyde United. He featured for The Tigers on Tuesday, in their 1-0 win away at Prescot Cables in the Emirates FA Cup.

After departing FC Halifax Town at the end of last season, Port fans have been eager to see the return of Festus, so we’re delighted to reveal him signing for Southport today.

Manager Neil Danns gave his thoughts on our latest recruit:

“We’re delighted to bring Festus back to the club on a permanent basis. He knows the club inside out, he’s a big personality in the dressing room and a real fans’ favourite.”

“Having already been playing for Hyde this season, he’ll hit the ground running and add real strength to our back line, while also giving us another strong option in midfield. He’s someone who will have an immediate impact both on and off the pitch.”
