Two More Charity Match Players

Lowe and Noone confirmed for Charity Match

We’re pleased to announce that Ryan Lowe & Craig Noone will be playing in our Charity Match this coming Sunday (3rd August). Both add to a growing cast of stars who are all part of a great cause as we support 24 families directly affected by the tragic events of 29th July 2024.

Ryan is the current Head Coach of EFL League One side Wigan Athletic, after being appointed back in March. Prior to joining Wigan, Ryan’s managerial career spans back to 2017, with his previous clubs including Bury, Plymouth Argyle and Preston North End.

Despite rising through the Southport Academy, Ryan didn’t feature for the First Team. He moved into the Football League with Shrewsbury Town, after spending time in non-league following his departure from Southport in 1999.

The second player forming this announcement is Craig Noone. The Kirkby-born winger spent the majority of his childhood in the Academy at Liverpool FC, before being released at age 16. Moves to Wrexham, Skelmersdale United & Burscough would follow, before eventually signing at Haig Avenue for Liam Watson.

Even though he only made one appearance, playing 60 minutes on the opening day in the 2008-09 season, Craig sealed a move to Plymouth Argyle for a significant undisclosed fee. A highly successful career came after this, being part of title winning sides in both League One and the Championship.

We’re pleased to have the duo onboard for the Charity Match, raising funds for this important cause. Secure your tickets for Sunday here.
