New defender signs for the season

We’re excited to announce the signing of right-sided defender Paul Murphy-Worrell on an initial one-year deal, with the option of an extra season in the Club’s favour.

The 18-year old arrives at Haig Avenue following his recent departure from Blackburn Rovers in the summer. Initially joining Rovers’ U18 squad, Paul progressed through the Academy setup, eventually joining the U21 squad for the 2024/25 season.

Prior to Blackburn, Paul spent several seasons at Liverpool FC, his boyhood club. Having played with Manager Neil Danns’ son Jayden at LFC’s Academy, the Port boss knows what to expect from our newest recruit.
