Since its formation in 2021, significant strides have been made on and off the pitch by our academy.
Recently, Finn Turner & Matthew Hawkins progressed onto our player pathway program. As a result, they train alongside the first team whilst gaining valuable minutes out on dual registration.
Gomes Steps Up
A positive to take from Saturday’s FA Cup game was the inclusion of Renato De Oliveria Gomes in the matchday squad.
Renato, one of our current Academy players, has had a fantastic start to the season. He is currently on dual registration with Skelmersdale United, playing under Tommy Lawson.
His hard work and dedication has been recognised by the first team management. This saw him named as a substitute in Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup game against Curzon Ashton.
Words From The Academy Manager
Academy Manager David Morgan said…”It was great to see Renato involved with the First Team in the FA Cup at the weekend. I think he will benefit from the experience of being in and around the squad. It is a reward for his impressive start to the season.”
“It shows the progress our academy is making, and it is another player who deserves the opportunity. His work ethic is brilliant and he is a great lad, who we think has the ability to keep developing and improving.”
Well done, Renato!
