New Strength & Conditioning Coach Joins

Kyle Taylor joins as S&C Coach

Manager Neil Danns has added Strength & Conditioning Coach Kyle Taylor to his back room staff.

Kyle’s first role in football came at Wigan Warriors, where he was an intern. Following that, he joined Tranmere Rovers, working with the both the Academy and First Team, whilst also supporting Marine FC’s First Team.

A move down to Swindon Town came after that, as Head of Academy Sport Science, prior to moving back to Liverpool to complete his PhD in November 2022. In addition to studying, he also worked as an Academy Sports Scientist at Liverpool FC.

More recently, Kyle was the First Team Strength & Conditioning Coach at Connah’s Quay Nomads. During his two-and-a-half-year spell there, he was involved in the team that won the Welsh Cup. They also appeared in two Welsh Cup finals and the Europa Conference League. Whilst at the club, Kyle and his team reduced the injury incidence drastically.

Speaking on his arrival, Kyle said “I’m excited to begin my new role at Southport FC. I’d like to thank Neil and Mark for bringing me to the club. It’s an exciting project to be involved in and I look forward to getting started in pre-season.”

Chief Operating Officer Andy Burgess added “We are pleased to welcome Kyle to Southport FC.

He is an experienced Strength & Conditioning Coach who boasts an impressive C.V. and having worked with Neil at Tranmere Rovers previously, they already know each other well so it is a sensible appointment. The focus on the physical fitness and condition of the players is paramount to ensuring we are in a good place to negotiate what we know is an extremely challenging division.

We thank Jake King for his efforts last season in this role, as he departs for pastures new, and we wish Kyle well during his time with us.”

Welcome to Southport, Kyle!
