Head of Player Recruitment – Ash Hoskin

Ash Hoskin announced as new Head of Player Recruitment

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ash Hoskin as our new Head of Player Recruitment. Ash was previously a player at Burnley, ultimately leading onto him holding a coaching role, eventually becoming manager of Colwyn Bay, and most recently being Head of Academy Recruitment at Accrington Stanley.

Ash’s role will also include him supporting the coaching of our Academy team. We are working hard on bringing in a new Academy Manager to join Ash and an announcement will be made soon on an exciting appointment.

Chief Operating Officer Andy Burgess commented: “We’re thrilled to be able to bring Ash into the Club in what is a critical role. Recruitment at any level is so vital, but especially when there is no window to work with as it allows for constant review and work on the squad throughout the season. We want Neil to have a settled squad, but in reality, at times, the landscape of availability can change quickly so we need to be able to have options and understanding of the market.

Ash has had 8 years at Accrington Stanley’s Academy as Head of Recruitment where he has developed knowledge at all levels. His understanding of players in the north west is phenomenal and aligns perfectly with the way we are approaching the make up of the squad – young and hungry players who need a platform to progress either with us, or if they outgrow us, can go up the pyramid.

He’s a larger than life character who will become a huge asset for us as a club and who I’m sure will add immense value. He’s an A-Licence coach who enjoyed a good playing career so he understands the game and what a player looks like.

We welcome him to Haig Avenue and I’m excited about what he will bring us.”

Ash himself added: “Firstly I’d like to thank the owners and Neil for giving me the opportunity, it’s an honour and a privilege to be here at such a great club. I’m delighted to be on board and look forward to working alongside everyone at the club to bring in the best players possible, not just at first team level but also helping the academy staff with their recruitment.

Really looking forward to meeting everyone and getting started.”
