New left-back signs ahead of the season opener

We’re delighted to announce the signing of Ben Collins on an initial one-year deal, with the option of an extra season in the club’s favour.

The 21-year old joins having departed from EFL League Two side Salford City this summer. Despite his age, Ben is not short of experience in men’s football, having appeared for several clubs on loan in the last few seasons.

Ben’s most recent loan spell was at Flint Town United of the Welsh Premier League, where he helped them to retain their league status for the following season. Other loan moves include Clitheroe FC and 1874 Northwich.

Ben has appeared a handful of times for the first team at Salford City, debuting in the EFL Trophy back in 2023, away to Bolton Wanderers.
