Boxing Duo To Play In Charity Match – Sunday 3rd August

We are delighted to welcome two more celebrities to the growing host of players for our upcoming Charity Match on August 3rd at Haig Avenue – Liam Smith and Jazza Dickens. A reminder that this Charity Match is to take place to raise money to support 24 families directly affected by the devastating events of July 29th 2024, and to help bring our community together.

Firstly, we welcome talented boxer Liam Smith, who was born and raised in Liverpool. Liam fought his first professional fight on 10th October 2008, defeating Duncan Cottier and starting what would become a 24 match unbeaten streak, running into 2016.

During this unbeaten streak, Smith was able to win the WBO light-middleweight title, defeating John Thompson at the Manchester Arena in 2015. ‘Beefy’ would then retain his title twice, against Jimmy Kelly and Predrag Radoševoć, before eventually losing to Canelo Álvarez in Texas. Smith is also keen on football, as a huge Liverpool fan, and regularly plays for his local side on Sundays.

Also set to play, is fellow boxer Jazza Dickens. Similar to Liam, Jazza was born and raised in the Liverpool area. On 2nd of July this year he won both the IBA and WBA super featherweight titles, defeating Albert Batyrgaziev by knockout in Istanbul.

Dickens is also the former IBF and WBO European featherweight champion, as well as previously holding the British Super-Bantamweight title.

See Dickens, Smith and many more of our star studded line-up on August 3rd at Haig Avenue, as we make money to support 24 families directly affected by the tragic events of July 29th 2024, with all money made at the event going towards the cause.
