We can confirm that Jack Doyle has today departed Southport Football Club, after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.
Today’s announcement brings to an end Jack’s six-year affiliation with Southport, after initially signing at Haig Avenue back in 2019. A favourite amongst the fans, Jack has developed a close relationship with the supporters of Southport and is held in high regard by many.
Jack departs having swooped up a number of club awards, most notably at the end of the 2023-24 season, when ‘Doyley’ won the Players’ Player of the Season, Supporters’ Player of the Season and Goal of the Season. In addition to being a key part of the Port defence, Jack provided some key goals at the other end of the pitch too, including that equaliser at Brackley and his spectacular free kick away at King’s Lynn two seasons ago.
Upon departing, Jack said “My time has now come to an end, thank you for all of your support over the years, it has never gone unnoticed.
Special thank you to Liam to bringing me to club all them years ago. I’ll be forever grateful. All the staff behind the scenes Dan, Hamish, Christine, Rob, Julia, Pottsy and all of the volunteers. Thank you for everything over the years.
I wish the club all the best.
Doyley ”
With 217 appearances to his name, everyone at Southport Football Club wishes Jack every success in the future and thank him for his contributions over the past 6 years.
