Southport FC is always happy to accommodate media organisations and journalists wherever possible. Haig Avenue contains a fully fitted press area, with wi-fi and electricity available to all visiting media.
(The following conditions do not apply to the BBC , who have separate permissions laid out in their agreement with the National League)
Match photography access requests must include your license and insurance details and be sent in seven days prior to the match you wish to attend.
Commentary requests:
All commentary requests, including from visiting clubs, their partners, commercial stations and community stations, MUST be received no less than 48 hours before a fixture. Commentary permissions will NOT be granted on the day of a match under any circumstances. Southport FC is under no obligation to honour agreements between opposition clubs and their media partners.
Southport FC Media will be providing commentary from as many matches as possible in the 2025-26 season.
Match filming requests:
Visiting clubs are permitted access to film matches, and publish highlights, on condition that Southport FC is afforded the same rights in any return fixture.
We now film our matches from the Popular Terrace Cabin opposite the Main Stand.
We like to make all visiting media feel welcome at Haig Avenue and we allocate space for four visitors in our Press Box. Any club bringing in excess of four will be located nearby but without power so bring a long extension lead to hook up into the Press Box. We will welcome you and allocate a seat in the Press Box which is labelled Visiting Media, we don’t have any refreshment facilities but there are plenty of food and drink outlets in the ground.
When travelling away we will usually have 4 from our volunteer media team plus, on occasions, a photographer.
Please contact Rob Urwin, rob@southportfc.net 077900-41514 to make arrangements ahead of the game if you intend filming the game. VEO cameras can be placed opposite the Main Stand.
