York City v Southport Match Details

Southport make the trip over The Pennines on Saturday for our first ever visit to the LNER Community Stadium.

After a superb win against top four side Spennymoor in the FA Cup on Tuesday the confidence will be high as the lads travel to one of the favourites for the title in York City.

The home side haven’t had the bright start to the season as most people expected them to be at the top end but it’s early days.

We all know Southport need to start picking up the league points and bringing the three home from Yorkshire will be a start.

Considering the position the Sandgrounders find themselves in, the feelgood factor and positive buzz around the Pure Stadium is exceptional and the support against Spennymoor was excellent and every one of the players commented how much it meant to them.

The FA Cup tie against Altrincham will be a game to savour on October 16th and we hope the town will get behind the lads in big numbers but this Saturday the focus will be on our our league form.
