A few highlights from last night’s win against Bishop’s Stortford.
We have a trip over The Pennines to Farsley Celtic on Friday with a 3pm Kick Off.
Marcus Carver and Luke Burgess will be available for selection for this game as the suspensions don’t kick in until a week after the red cards. Both will be serving a four match ban making the game at Farsley their last of the season.
Matty Thomson is making good progress and will be back in contention for a place in the squad.

We are hoping to bring commentary from this game subject to Wi-Fi dongle and power working.
Farsley are on a poor run and go in to the game having slipped down to 19th place in the table and with just one win in their last ten games and will be looking to get some much needed points on the board.

Jim gives us his thoughts after the home win against Bishop’s Stortford.
Report By Matty Hurst
Just the sixth home league win comes at a crucial time as Port move up to 15th with just 5 games left.
The windy conditions played a part in the opening stages of the game with both sides struggling to create chances early on.
Bennett’s header in the 13th minute being the highlight of the early proceedings, resulting in a goalline clearance for the visitors, but it was Southport who opened the scoring after Hmami’s half-volley nestled into the corner in the 37th minute.
Port raised their tails after taking the lead adding two goals in quick succession, after clever thinking by Carver made it two before Bennett at the back post made it three on the stroke of half time.
The home side started the second half in the same manner as they ended the first, but a flurry of chances came and went before the visitors claimed what was merely a consolation goal with 15 minutes to play after a volley by Charles beat McMillan in goal.
With the clock ticking down Southport had one final chance in added time and as the ball landed at Philliskirk’s feet, the midfielder made no mistake in firing past the keeper scoring his first for the club and making it 4-1 on the night.
The attention turns to Friday now as an away trip to Farsley Celtic awaits, which has a kick off time of 3pm.
Line up: Mcmillan, Quansah, Arthur, Hockenhull, Anson (c), Doyle, Philliskirk, Lloyd (Burgess 79′), Hmami, Bennett (Russ 81′), Carver.
Unused subs: Flowers, Evans, Heath
Attendance: 607 (10 away)
The Southport Brewery Sponsored Man Of The Match chosen by our Match Sponsors and also receiving the Adam Le Roi Trophy was Josh Hmami.

A squad of seven of our Walking Footballers took part in a 6 a side friendly against a strong Neston Nomads side and put in a great performance before going down 5-3.
Conditions were far from ideal, it was cold and very blustery but over the 80 minutes played in 4, 20 minute sections it was a great workout for the lads who are gearing up for this years National Walking Football Cup in three age groups, over 60, 65 and 70.
Highlights with, as always, thanks to our volunteer cameraman Gaz Newton for the filming.
Jim’s take on the Non League Day 2-2 draw with Buxton.
The points were shared after a lively encounter at The Big Help Stadium this afternoon.
It was a strange game, as a spectacle it wasn’t the best with the wind playing a massive part in a lack of good football but four goals and a lively end to the game made up for the lack of quality.
Buxton took the lead in the 20th minute after a fumble by Tony McMillan was pounced on by the on loam striker Andreucci.
Southport then took control and Lloyd, Burgess, Bennett and Hockenhull all went close before we were awarded a penalty after a handball in the box which Danny Lloyd duly despatched 1-1 at half time.
Buxton retook the lead in the opening minute of the second half when Andreucci got his second of the game.
The game seemed to be petering out with neither side able to master the conditions but just as it looked like the visitors were going to hang on Richie Bennett was on hand to fire home from close range and make it 2-2 in the 90th minute.
The drama didn’t stop there as both Carver and Burgess were shown straight red cards in added time and we finished the game with 9 men on the field.
The afternoon had started with Chris Renshaw having to pull out with an injury and losing his ever present tag which meant Tony McMillan started between the sticks for his 297th start plus 2 subs.
The Southport Brewery Man Of The Match chosen by our Sponsors Barron Financial and Anthony James Estate Agents was Danny Lloyd.
