VACANCY | Match-day Co-ordinator

Southport Football Club are looking for a committed, enthusiastic team player to manage and administer all home match-days at the Merseyrail Community Stadium.


Reporting to the CEO of the club, the individual will manage match-day volunteers such as stewards, turnstile operators, first aid personnel and cleaning and ground maintenance staff.

Hours of Work

  • One day per week – 9am till 5pm (match preparation)
  • All home match-days – 9am till 6pm (with flexibility for midweek fixtures)

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Pre-match field and facility setup.
  • Administer all aspects and requirements of match-day fixtures.
  • Liaise with team managers and officials.
  • Liaise with Match Officials.
  • Manage the security operations of Southport Football Club on match-days including managing all accreditation and staffing levels (including stewarding teams and external security agencies as appropriate).
  • Manage the relationship Sefton Council with regards to the Club safety certificate.
  • Liaise on behalf of the Club with the Local Authority, Police, Fire Service, Ambulance Service, Safety Advisory Group and any other body in the maintenance of the Safety Certificate and related matters.
  • Attend all meetings on behalf of the Club to discuss any issue relating to the Safety Certificate.
  • Meet and greet visiting opposition and Match Officials.
  • Arrange for refreshments for visiting opposition and Match Officials during their visits.
  • Changing room, kit and equipment management and administration.
  • Team sheet exchange.
  • Provide direct assistance to Owner, CEO and Club Secretary as and when required.

The salary offered for the role will be dependent on experience, with an immediate start date agreed upon an application and interview.
