VACANCY | Community Foundation Coach

We are advertising the role of Community Foundation Coach due to the expansion of our community programme.

Southport FC Community Foundation Football Coach & Match-day Team Member
Salary £8 – 15 per hour (dependant on experience)

An excellent opportunity has arisen at Southport Football Club’s as we are looking to build a sustainable coaching team.

Southport Football Club are a National League North side, with our Charity Community Foundation funded by the National League Trust back in July 2018.

The successful candidate will be part of the growing Community Foundation team and link into a number of events both for the foundation and the football club.

The candidate(s) will need to plan, evaluate and deliver high-level coaching sessions in-line with our own coaching curriculum within Primary Schools and also deliver our new Mini Port, Girls, Wildcats and Walking Football sessions across Southport and in the future to the wider community of Sefton.

The successful candidate(s) will be required to deliver Football Coaching sessions to a range of participants from age three onwards and be comfortable in various environments from Primary School to Higher/Further Education, be comfortable interacting with a range of participants with Disabilities and learning difficulties as well as adults and vulnerable people.

The role, at present, will be on a part-time hourly basis (based on the needs and wants of the Community Foundation and Football Club). Weekly sessions via our schools coaching programme, the Mini Port, Girls Wildcats and Walking Football sessions, half-term delivery and support on home Southport FC Match-days would all be part of the successful candidate’s working week.


  • FA Level 1
  • FA Youth Modules (Advantageous)
  • In-date FA Safeguarding Qualification
  • In-date FA First Aid Qualification
  • In-date Enhanced DBS Clearance

  • GCSE or equivalent (Required)
  • BTEC/NVQ/Degree (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience of working with a range of age groups, abilities and needs.
  • In-date FA qualifications.
  • DBS check (this can be done on acceptance of role).
  • Flexibility to work Weekdays, Evenings, Weekends and Match-days at SFC.
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Access to own vehicle.
  • Sefton Resident
  • Reliable
  • Cash Handling experience.

Our main focus and vision at Southport Community Foundation is to create both sustainability for our football club in all age groups, but to be the main community programme in Sefton.

Job Type: Part Time (this could lead to a Full-time role in the 2019/20 football season when the Charity is fully up and running).
