TRANSFER | Devarn Green

The club can confirm that Devarn Green has completed a transfer to Scunthorpe United for an undisclosed fee.

Devarn, who joined Southport in the summer of 2018, leaves the Pure Stadium after 54 starts in all competitions. He also made 49 substitute appearances for the Port.

A bid was recently received and subsequently agreed with Scunthorpe, allowing Devarn to complete the move to the SkyBet League Two side.

Devarn is the second player this season to progress from Southport to a club in the EFL following the transfer of Dion Charles to Accrington Stanley at the start of the campaign.

The 23-year-old scored 14 goals during his time at the Port, his six strikes this season including an excellent solo goal in the win against Hereford in October.

Manager Liam Watson said: “We’d like to thank Devarn for his effort and some fine performances whilst with the club and wish him well in his future career.

“As a club, we have always said we will never stand in the way of any player who wants to progress and we all hope he goes on to achieve great success in his career and do well at Scunthorpe.”
