Our FA Trophy Fifth Round tie against Torquay United at the Pure Stadium on Saturday 6 February is due to go ahead as scheduled.
It is our intention to play this fixture after undertaking two rounds of testing for the full playing squad and staff, and having received confirmation from Torquay that they will also test.
Our squad was tested on Wednesday, all returning negative results, and will be tested again before the fixture on Saturday.
We are grateful to Torquay for their confirmation that the travelling players and staff will be tested.
As the game will be played behind closed doors, coverage will be available via our usual online streaming service for £9.99. Match passes are now available to purchase HERE.
We are unfortunately unable to make the stream available free for members and season ticket holders on this occasion. The revenue from the stream is shared equally between the clubs after hotel and travel costs have been covered.
A pdf version of the reduced matchday programme is available to buy via our online shop for £1. There are no printed version available for this game.
We can also confirm that the club has returned voting submissions in response to the resolutions to determine the outcome of the 2020/21 season.
We have voted in favour of Resolution 1, supporting the position that the decision about whether to end the current National League North and South seasons should be taken only by clubs in these leagues on a one vote per club basis.
The club has also voted in favour of Resolutions 3 and 4 to immediately end the current season, for it to be declared null and void, and for promotion and relegation between the National League and Step 2 to be suspended for the current campaign.
The idea that teams should play without testing thus putting our players, staff and volunteers at risk, or potentially be awarded three points because other clubs cannot afford to test or even play through no fault of their own does not sit right with us.
