Southport and Merseyrail sign up to a new sponsorship deal.

Manager Liam Watson is pictured with the Managing Director Of Merseyrail, Andy Heath, signing the contract heralding a bright, new and exciting link up with Merseyrail which will see the club working alongside Merseyrail in a range of community projects.

Southport Football Club Community Development Manager Darren Wildman said “I am delighted to be able to confirm that Merseyrail has agreed to continue their partnership with Southport Football Club. Over the past ten years the club and Merseyrail have forged a great relationship and we are now looking to focus on more community-related projects where we can work together around the town and surrounding areas.

We are really looking to move a number of community-related projects forward in the next twelve months, increasing our involvement with dementia groups, Sefton Veterans, Sporting Memories, Kids Clubs, Merseyside Sport, The Royal British Legion, Access Community Services, The High Park community project, local schools, and many many more. It really is an exciting time for the club to support its’ amazing surrounding community”

Andy Heath, Managing Director at Merseyrail, said: “We are extremely proud to continue our relationship with Southport FC for another 12 months as Community Partners.

“We have had a partnership with the club in one form or another over the last ten years and have seen the real impact it has had on the local community.

“The work the club does with schools, football development and beyond is second to none and it’s a privilege to be able to support that over the next year.”
