Southport Football Club – A Learning Destination For Children!

We are delighted to be part of the Sefton Children’s University, this initiative recognises and reward children’s voluntary participation in learning activities and experiences outside the normal school curriculum.

Sefton Children’s University acknowledges the impact study support activities can have on children and the contribution made by staff in delivering study support.  The University aims to raise children’s awareness of University and the key differences between school and University, in particular the voluntary nature of higher education.

Club CEO Natalie Atkinson said “Our football club is proud to be part of the University as it provides credits for children to gain through activities they take part in.  If a child attends one of junior coaching sessions for an hour they will receive one credit, as our partnership with the University develops we will be hosting session for children to write match reports, learn how the football club functions and the roles within the Club.

“Developing learning for children in Southport is one of our priorities and we will continue to develop lots of initiatives for children and young people over the coming years”
