Progression into the FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round after a 2-1 win against Hyde United.
A 19th minute goal for Marcus Carver, his first of the season, and an 81st minute penalty from Danny Lloyd gave Southport a comfortable 2-0 lead but Hyde kept on going and an excellent 87th minute goal from Jordan Scanlon made for a nervy final 9 minutes.
It wasn’t a great spectacle but the objective of getting in to the next round was achieved.
