Job Title: Football Analyst

Reports to: First Team Manager

Hours: 37.5 hours per week with additional hours as required.

Salary: Negotiable

Job Purpose: The analyst will record and live code football performances and liaise with the management and players within training and competition environments to improve their performance. The analyst will work with the coaching staff to identify the strengths and weaknesses of opposition teams, our own team, and individual players. Provide and interpret statistics, as well as edit video footage, to provide the coach, players, technical director with relevant tactical, technical and physical information in the form of a report for oppositional teams that is backed up with video footage and a presentation

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
– Responsible for filming, coding and analysing games, then presenting feedback to players and management.
– Prepare and deliver video analysis sessions including, but not limited to, training topic introductions, pre-match opposition analysis and post- match review sessions.
– Live code as a match is being played in order to give real time live updates to management should they require it during the match (Half-Time).
– Maintain the database of media created and ensure it is accessible for all the relevant parties.
– Producing materials as requested by management in support of team training or matches including video packages.
– Create in depth team and Individual statistical reports highlighting key objective data.
– Manage long-term analysis projects and present key trends throughout the season.
– Film training sessions and provide subsequent analysis and feedback to coaches and players.
– Perform other duties to help the performance analysis department function efficiently, including the management of our games library.
– Development of a code window and databasing of compiled opposition reports for the coaching staff to access easily.

Essential Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
– Demonstrable Elite level experience of providing performance analysis support in football;
– An excellent understanding in the use of Performance Analysis software, primarily SPORTSCODE, AMISCO & KEYNOTE (capture, editing and analysis), and any other 3rd party products (Final Cut, Microsoft Office/Excel etc);
– Attention to detail and the ability to communicate using a variety of presentation skills;
– Confident with their delivery of analysis and ability to speak to an audience of 20+ players and staff
– Good knowledge of football, both tactically and technically;
– Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) – Specialising in Sports/Performance Analysis;
– IT literate but also competent in the use of other visual resources
– Valid drivers licence with access to own vehicle
– Ability to work at unsociable hours with little notice of tasks that need completing

Desireable Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
– Minimum 2 years experience in football, or elite full-time sport environment
– MSc or other equivalent post-graduate qualification.
– Knowledge of S&C principles.
