Philliskirk Is Here To Stay

We are delighted to welcome Danny Philliskirk back to the club, following his recent departure from AFC Fylde.

Danny becomes Manager Jim Bentley’s ninth summer signing, returning to SFC on a permanent deal. Make sure you’re also signed up for the 2024/25 season by purchasing your season ticket here.

Danny’s Career to Date

Danny started off his footballing career at Oldham Athletic, progressing through the youth system at Boundary Park. His performances then earned him a move to the capital, penning a long-term deal with Chelsea in 2007. He captained the youth team in the 2008/09 season, before going on to establish his position in the club’s reserve side.

Following this, Danny featured for Oxford United, Sheffield United & Coventry City, before returning to Oldham Athletic in 2013. He remained at Boundary Park for two-and-a-half years, where he made over 100 appearances during his second spell with Latics.

In the January transfer window of 2016, Danny joined League One side Blackpool, where he stayed for the rest of that season, and the next.

His next move saw him arrive at Mill Farm, where he spent 6 seasons with AFC Fylde, winning both the FA Trophy in 2019 and promotion from the Vanarama National League North in the 2022-23 season.

Bolstering Our Midfield Options

Danny spent the second-half of last season with SFC, featuring in every league game during his loan spell. Bringing with him plenty of experience, Danny is a great addition to the club.

We hope he has a successful season with us and look forward to seeing him in action next week, in our first pre-season friendly against Preston North End.
