LOAN WATCH | 2018/19 Season (5)

With the season well under-way, the Sandgrounders lads out on loan have had plenty of time to acclimatise to their new surroundings as the season starts to take shape.

Lewis Doyle

Lewis Doyle had the best week as he opened his account for Droylsden on Monday in the Integro League Cup.

Coming off the bench, his goal in the 80th minute proved to be the difference as the Bloods progressed to the next round with a 2-1 win over Atherton Collieries.

He also played a part in Saturday’s league game against Chasetown, as he started in the 4-2 defeat.

Dan Cockerline

At Hednesford, Dan Cockerline was in action once again as they took on Workington, playing a part in the opening goal as the Pitmen earned a 2-0 win.

The forward could only make the bench for The Pitmen’s second match of the week, as they stumbled to a 3-1 defeat against Kidsgrove in the Integro League Cup.

Josh Dobie

For Runcorn, Josh Dobie had a place on the bench for a 2-0 league win against Colne, before starting in Wednesday’s cup game against Warrington.

In a close 1-1 game, the match went to penalties with Runcorn coming out on top.

Marine Update

At Marine, Liam Davies got a place on the bench as an unused sub, whilst Hollins missed out completely again as the Lilywhites suffered a 1-0 defeat to Warrington.

The club can confirm that Andy Hollins has now been recalled and will be involved in first team duties.

Billy Priestley

The latest player to go out on loan is Billy Priestley at FC United of Manchester, who made his second appearance for them against Guiseley.

It was a rocky start for the defender as United suffered a 3-0 defeat.

With more players getting game time and more finding the back of the net, there is currently a lot of positive signs for those out on loan.

The current official list is as follows:

  • Lewis Doyle (Droylsden FC)
  • Dan Cockerline (Hednesford Town)
  • Liam Davies (Marine FC)
  • Billy Priestley (FC United of Manchester)
  • Josh Dobie (Runcorn Linnets)
  • Elliot Osborne (Stockport County)
