LOAN WATCH | 2018/19 Season (19)

Christmas time is all about spending time with family but also sees bumper crowds at football matches. The festive period saw a number of the Southport players out on loan in action.

Dan Cockerline

At Hednesford, Dan Cockerline and his team mates were only in action once throughout the festive period, as they took on North Ferriby on Boxing Day.

The forward started and was on target for the Pitmen, as he opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time.

North Ferriby were able to get back into the game in the second half, producing an equaliser on the 75th minute.

Cockerline had the chance to get his second of the match and snatch the win for his side; but failed to convert a 90th minute penalty.

Luckily his side still took all three points as substitute, Cooper, came on to score the late winner.

Droylsden Duo

The Bloods also only had the one game over the festive break, coming up against Kendal Town on Boxing Day.

Lewis Doyle returned to the bench whilst Andy Hollins continued his run in the starting 11.

Despite conceding the first goal, the Tameside side came from behind to secure a 2-1 win and give their fans another Christmas present.

Billy Priestley

Colne’s Boxing Day fixture saw them take on Clitheroe in a local derby.

Priestley started as his side made the festive period a little more joyful, as they battled to take an excellent 3-1 victory.

Josh Langley

Altrincham did have two games over the Christmas period, unfortunately Josh Langley was not involved in either of the Robins matches.

It was to be a disappointing period for Alty with a 2-0 defeat to Stockport and a 2-2 draw against Guiseley.

The next games for the loanees to take part in will be on New Year’s Day, with all hoping to begin 2019 in the best possible way.

Updates on their individual loan agreements will be communicated over the coming weeks.
