LOAN WATCH | 2018/19 Season (12)

It has been an interesting week for some of Southport’s players, with some ending, some re-starting and some becoming permanent.

Elliot Osborne

One player who has now departed the club permanently is Elliot Osborne after completing a move to Stockport County from an initial loan spell.

His last game for them as a Southport loanee ended well, as he doubled their lead to send County on their way to a 2-0 victory over Curzon Ashton.

Droylsden Duo

At Droylsden, Andy Hollins and Lewis Doyle featured in both this week’s matches.

Two 3-1 wins over Newcastle Town and Skelmersdale United made it a good week for the pair.

To add to that Andy Hollins week got even better as he was named the clubs player of the month for October.

Dan Cockerline

Cockerline started on the bench for Hednesford at the weekend, coming on in the 72nd minute as his side drew 1-1 with Bamber Bridge.

His fortunes improved midweek, as he was promoted to the starting lineup, as did the fortunes of the team, beating Birmingham 1-0 in Birmingham Senior Cup.

Liam Davies

Marine only had one match this week, with Liam Davies on the bench, with the game against Hyde United finishing goalless.

He made an appearance for the Port on Tuesday night in the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy, playing in the full tie in the middle of midfield.

Billy Priestley

After being recalled and also making an appearance and scoring in the cup on Tuesday night, the defender has joined his local club, Colne FC on loan for the remainder of the season. The East Lancashire side play two divisions below.

Southport would like to wish him well at his new club and thank him for his effort and professionalism when he returned from FC United of Manchester recently.
