An afternoon to forget in Darlington, going down to a disappointing 3-0 defeat.

Delays on the M6 lead to a later than planned arrival but it was Southport who started brightly but, as has been the case in recent games the opposition get a chance and with the first shot at goal they score.

The game became very scrappy after the goal with chances few and far between and it took an unfortunate goalkeeping error by Chris Renshaw that was pounced on in the 70th minute to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.

That pretty much killed the game but there was still time for Darlington to grab a third in the 81st minute to give the scoreline a flattering look but Darlington deserved the win an another game wothout a clean sheet.
