In light of the events we all witnessed at Euro 2020 in Copenhagen, the club are seeking donations to place a community use defibrillator on Haig Avenue.
Although the Football Club has two AED’s these travel with the teams at training and matches and are not always readily available in the community.
This unit will be housed on the outside of the stadium on Haig Avenue and can be accessed by dialling 999.
Thanks to an incredible donation from a long standing Southport supporter who wishes to remain anonymous we have reached our target. We are overwhelmed by this support and we can’t thank the person involved enough.
A thank you to everyone who has donated via GoFundMe as well, we will be bringing pictures of the defibrillator on Haig Avenue as soon as it is in place. It is being purchased today and should be with us by the end of the week.
We of course hope we never have to use it but it will be there for the community to use should the need arise.
