CELEBRATE | Community Day Is Here!

The clubs first Community Football Day takes place this weekend from 11am.

On Saturday 25 August, in conjunction with the Ashton United – National League North fixture, Southport Football Club will launch the community scheme programme.

The Southport FC Community Foundation is in its infancy and is funded by the National League Trust.

On the day, 10 Mini Soccer teams will play on the Merseyrail Community Stadium pitch, which will be the first of many events during the season, and the grassroots teams are confirmed:

  • Herald Juniors FC
  • Altown United FC
  • Crosby Stuart JFC
  • Knowsley South FC
  • Litherland Remyca FC
  • Phoenix FC
  • Southport FC Youth
  • Hollinwood FC

There will be a Bouncy Castle Parade for additional fun activities on the day, a ‘Slushy Team’, Willow Catering will once again be providing the usual food and drink as well as ice creams and ‘Razzle Dazzled’ face painting crew will be in attendance.

The new Head of Community Football Development, Lee Folkard said; “I am really excited about this event as we formally announce our Community Foundation with our first club community event. We have some great things happening on the day including great children’s games around the ground, 10 teams at U7s and 8s on the pitch playing some tournament fixtures and of course the visit of Ashton United.

“It will be great to see more of the local community at the Merseyrail Community Stadium to support the team, but also our new community scheme. See you there!”
