Bishop takes final training

Southport’s training sessions for the 2015-16 season concludes on Friday morning when Andy Bishop finalises his prep for Saturday’s Merseyrail Community Stadium Vanarama National League fixture with Kidderminster Harriers.

Andy Bishop took Thursday’s session at a very cold King George V College playing field. Our three mornings a week quality sessions held at either of our bases King George V College playing fields and JMO Sports Park on 3g have certainly been a major part of ensuring fitness and player cohesion over a very varied season which now places the Port in 15th spot going into the last day of the season.

On Saturday the club has a number of pre match presentations and announcements to make plus we will introduce Andy Bishop as the new permanent Port boss at the Merseyrail Community Stadium. Our Cheshire Cup winning Under 21 squad will do a lap of honour with this weeks winning silverware.
Churchtown Primary pupils/ parents and staff will be attending and we have two half time matches. A bucket collection will be held for the Community Link Foundation.

The Sandgrounder matchday programme provides a great pre match read and well done to Programme Editor Rob Urwin and his contributors for coming fourth in the Vanarama National League programme awards.
The Grandstand Bar will host the post match Player Awards led by Trust in Yellow. Pre and post match the bar will have the award winning Real Ale GrandStand Gold on sale along with a superb selection of draft/bottled beers, wines and soft drinks. Andy Bishop and his squad will be in the Grandstand Bar so everyone can meet and greet their new manager.

So it should be a super afternoon and evening.
