26-year-old Alan brings steel and creativity in equal measure to the Southport midfield. A former England under 18 representative and one-time Everton team-mate of Wayne Rooney, Alan’s career was put on hold as he spend two years recovering from a serious ankle injury sustained while playing for the Goodison Park reserves on a professional contract. A quality passer who also relishes a crunching challenge, Alan returned to football with Burscough, before switching to Southport three seasons ago.
