26 June Cricket Match Trust In Yellow v Churchtown at The Rookery from 1pm. Once again the weather played a part with the start having to be brought forward by 90 minutes due to the poor forecast.

A grand reunion for Andy Bishop. Another stifling hot afternoon not suited to football but another useful workout for everyone. Goal scored by trialist Ben Jago not long after coming on. Att 565

26 July PSF Home v Fleetwood 7.45pm

An early contender for the Fleetwood’s goal of the season as Southport went down 3-1. Ross White scoring the only goal in a game dominated by The Cod. It was a special goal from the half way line over the head of Ryan Crump who had replaced Ty Belford at half time.

30 July New site launch. Some great work by James Cave to get it up and running. We want feedback so if anyone spots anything missing or  any errors please get in touch. It’s been a busy summer and my own involvement has come late in the day as I added content and merged SFC Stats. An enjoyable project which hasn’t finished as we continue to build  the site further. All ideas welcomed.

29 August Forest Green Away 3pm

Forest Green 5 Southport 1. At 2-1 we were in it and playing well but the third goal killed it off and to be fair it could have been a cricket score in the end. Disappointing but there were some promising signs again. Goal from the boss, Andy Bishop.

Andy Bishop is sacked as manager and the hunt is on for number 29.

7 September Liam Watson, Nigel Allen and Dave Barron appointed as Directors

8 October Guiseley Away. Should have come away with at least a point but sank to the bottom of the pile with a 2-1 defeat. Much improved performance but still a bad result against the one team who were below us in the table. A fine late penalty save by Magnus Norman stopped it from getting worse.

10 October Mark Creighton is replaced as Assistant Manager by Keith Briggs.

15 October FA Cup 4th Qual Round Home v Chester. A shock but welcome 1-0 win see us progress in to the next round. Excellent gate of 1674 with 960 away (amended from originally published 738)

17 October FA Cup draw live on BBC 2 at around 7pm.

22 October Sutton United Home followed by Trust In Yellow Race Night after the game. This is our 800th game in The Conference.
