FULLY FIT SQUAD TRAINING AT STANLEY Monday, December 31, 2007 (0 reads) Liam Blakeman, after treatment, joined his team mates training at Stanley High this morning. Peter Davenport has a fully fit squad to select from for the New Years Day trip to Burscough tomorrow.

SANDGROUNDERS NET SHRIMPS KEEPER ON LOAN Monday, December 31, 2007 (0 reads) Peter Davenport has brought in this morning goalkeeper Steven Drench from Morecambe on a months loan. Twenty two year old Drench had an outstanding season last term and was a major factor in Morecambe achieving a play off finish in the Nationwide Conference. But a shoulder injury ruled Drench out of the Shrimps Wembley play off victory and this season has been unable to establish himself as Morecambe's number one. Sammy McIlroy wants his keeper to get matches in and Peter Davenport was quick to act. Drench is poised to make his Port debut at Burscough tomorrow(New Years Day). Drench is training with his new team mates this morning. Tony Greenwood has taken  goalkeeper Terry Smith on loan to Fleetwood which will enable Smith to get some matches under his belt.

TRAINING MONDAY READY FOR BURSCOUGH AWAY ON NEW YEARS DAY Sunday, December 30, 2007 (0 reads) Peter Davenport and Huw Griffiths will take training out of Haig Avenue on Monday morning. Physio Steve Whitehall will check up on midfielder Liam Blakeman who came off early in the second half against Barrow with a neck injury. Southport who drew at home on Saturday take on a Burscough side who lost two nil at Vauxhall Motors. The Sandgrounders are currently fourth in the table, three points behind Blue Square leaders Kettering Town.
