HIGH FLYING PORT LOOKING FOR POINTS AT HINCKLEY ON MONDAY NIGHT Sunday, August 31, 2008 (21 reads)
After a fantastic start to the season in August with 16 points out of a possible 18 Southport will be looking to do the same throughout September. Liam Watson's squad travel to Hinckley on Monday night aiming to maintain their unbeaten Blue Square North record. The Port had the points in the bag very early on at Stafford but two players are rated doubtful for Monday. Defenders Kevin Lee ankle and Chris Lever groin are under treatment. Fellow defender Earl Davis is recovering from stitches on his foot and may make it. Midfielder Alan Moogan who was on the bench on Saturday after serving a five match suspension is still poised eagerly for his Port debut. Hinckley are unbeaten at home and did well at the weekend winning two nil at home to Gateshead with goals from Andy Gooding and Leigh Platnauer. Hinckley have won twice at home and drawn once scoring three goals and conceding none so far. Significantly the Hinckley defence has been a lot more generous away from home leaking seven goals.
Southport are at home to Alfreton next Saturday-September 6th kick off 3pm. |

The fund raising day that raised £700 was due to former 1960's player Terry McDonald organising the event so well over the last few months.
